Fundraise in your Community

Stepping Stones Nigeria’s (SSN) work could not take place without the vital support we receive from community groups across the world. We are indebted to their ongoing passion and enthusiasm. Why not get your local group involved in raising money to help our work to continue? Here are a few suggestions, though of course you might have plenty of ideas of your own!

1. Hold an event with your community group

You might want to put on an event such as an art auction, a craft fair or a ball for your local community to attend.  Events are a great way to raise money and also help people to have fun at the same time.

2. Take part in a sports event

Your group might want to get together to take part in a sports event to raise money for SSN. Marathons are a great way to get lots of sponsorship and doing it with other people will help to keep you motivated. Alternatively, you might want to put on your own event such as a sponsored walk or a bike ride from Lands End to John O’Groats.

3. Do a collection in your local town or city

You might want to spend a day or two collecting for SSN in your local town centre. You could dress up in silly clothes to draw attention and we can supply you with leaflets to hand out so people know who we are and why their money is needed. It’s also a great way to get to know more people in your local area. If this is the thing for you please do check with your local authority beforehand to make sure you have permission to collect money on our behalf.
