AdvocacyStepping Stones Nigeria’s advocacy work shines a light on some of the most challenging issues facing Nigerian children today. We educate, persuade and assist a huge range of different groups to uphold child rights, and we work diligently to ensure governments fulfil their responsibilities to children. Aims:1/ Raise awareness within Nigeria and the international community about child rights in the Niger Delta. 2/ Encourage and support different groups to understand, defend and uphold the rights of Niger Delta children more effectively.
How we do this:1/ We act as a voice for vulnerable and exploited children from the Niger Delta through publicising their stories in order to make the world aware of what is happening to them. 2/ We lobby key policy makers in governments and the international community to make the changes needed to guarantee that all Nigerian children enjoy their rights. 3/ We work with local communities in culturally sensitive and appropriate ways to support them to better uphold child rights. 4/ We support research and collect data on child rights abuses to ensure we have a clear evidence base for our work.
